Bright Stars of Bethlehem is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Dar al-Kalima University, Palestine's first university for arts, culture, and design. Founded by Rev. Dr. Mitri Raheb in 2004, the organization has garnered support across the U.S. and celebrated 20 years of hope in 2024.
Dar al-Kalima University, established in 2006, has 500 students at its Bethlehem campus and 2,000 Gazan students in online classes. The organization aims to rebuild the Gaza satellite program and resume in-person studies when safe. Bright Stars supports its mission through scholarships and constructing facilities like the Hospitality Education Center to meet education and employment needs in Palestine.
On Saturday, September 13th, 2025, Bright Stars of Bethlehem will host its 6th Annual "Hope Abounds" Virtual Gala. This online live event and fundraiser will celebrate the hope and creative resistance of Palestinian students at Dar al-Kalima University. The funds raised will help support and expand our educational and community arts programs, closing the gaps in Palestine.
