The skeleton for the new buildings is almost competed (estimated completion date in early January) and the cladding of a portion of the building is now under way. The concrete skeleton will be clad with limestone in decorative designs typical of other buildings in the region. This will be followed by the pointing between the stone. The decision was made to halt construction at the 5th floor rather than extend it through the 6th floor as the plans originally show. This was due mainly to the fall in the US dollar over the past several months, causing the rate of exchange to push the original estimated costs beyond the budget limit. By eliminating the top floor, construction would still be within budget. The roof will maintain enough integrity to allow the final floor to be completed at a later date should that be decided. The only area that has yet to have the skeleton completed is the main auditorium. This area is currently being used for equipment transfer to the other building areas. The excavation for the auditorium is completed and the slab floor will be poured soon. The main lobby entrance to the college will be located on the third floor of this area, which will actually be at ground level due to the steep slope of the construction site. The library will be located on the top level of the auditorium area and will be the last area of the skeleton works to be completed, with a completion estimate of March 1, 2009. 2009 will see the completion of the building with an estimated completion date of September 2009, barring any unforeseen complications.
