In a country with limited natural resources, Palestine's human resources are its most valuable capital.  Dar Al-Kalima College, through a comprehensive system of human resource development that reflects Palestine's emerging needs, equips its students with vital skills for the 21st century job market.  It is our vision that most of the country's future artists, musicians, actors, journalists, IT professionals, film makers and skilled technicians are alumni of the college.

With around 57% of the Palestinian population under the age of 19, current projections indicate that the overall population is expected to grow by at least 3.2% a year for the next 10 years.  Should there be no expansion of the education system to absorb these growing numbers, a significant number of gifted young people in Palestine will have nowhere to further their education beyond the 12th grade and will have extremely limited opportunities in finding employment.

Dar Al-Kalima College is a direct answer to the current shortage of higher education institutions in Palestine and a beacon of hope for future generations. It is dedicated to providing quality education that meets the economic, social, and cultural needs of Palestine.  Through establishing an institution for higher learning, the Dar Al-Kalima College is committed to building a culture of democracy, critical thinking, and free expression, thus contributing to the strengthening of the civil society in Palestine.

Academic Programs

Dar Al-Kalima College's unique educational philosophy is grounded in Christian values and a holistic approach that addresses the intellectual, spiritual, creative and social enrichment of its students.  As a first step, Dar Al-Kalima College will offer 2-year Associate degrees in the following fields:

  • Arts
  • Multimedia
  • Communications
  • Tourism Studies

The DAK College class of 2008 are graduating with degrees in the following disciplines:

  • Documentary Film Production
  • Contemporary Fine Art
  • Glass and Ceramics

Once the new building for the College is in place on the hilltop Mt. Murair campus, we will offer 4-year Bachelor's degrees in other major academic disciplines, in addition to the above areas of study.  Classes in film and glass & ceramics currently meet in the ICB complex in Madbasseh Square, but we hope that by the 2009 academic year the new buildings will be built and outfitted to serve our growing student body.

You can help a college student achieve their dreams by providing a college scholarship (full or partial) or donating to the Capital Campaign, which funds the construction and equipping of the college.
